The Music at the Cannery Summer Series presents The Marshalls, Shanna Lynn and Damian Marshall and the best songs from the '60s on Friday, July 27 at 6: 30 p.m. The series has nine shows in July and August, at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery, 12138 4th Ave. in Steveston Village. Rain or shine, the show goes on. Open air shows, so bring a sweater, it can get chilly.

The Friends of the Library (FOL) are celebrating its 40th Anniversary on Saturday, July 28 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Brighouse (Main) Branch of the Richmond Public Library in the Performance Hall. TUESDAY
This summer the East Richmond Community Association and Cambie Community Centre will be hosting its third annual Summer Fun Nights series. This free event runs Tuesday nights, July 31 and Aug. 7, 14, 21 from 5: 30 to 7: 30 p.m. at King George Park Gathering Place at No. 5 and Cambie roads. Featuring musical performances, fundraising BBQ, face painting, giant bubble blowing, free Yoga in the Park, a robotics demonstration and other activities. July 31 is The Ultimate Elvis Tribute Show featuring Brian "Elvis" Simpson and Eli Williams. The bands play from 6: 30 to 7: 30 p.m. except July 31 from 6: 30 to 8 p.m. To open the series, blanket-toting residents of all ages can enjoy an Outdoor Movie Night, The Muppet Movie, on Tuesday, July 31 with the movie beginning at 8: 30 p.m.

Deas Island Regional Park presents Navigating the Night Thursday, July 26 from 8 to 10 p.m. Use your senses to explore the park. Smell the beautiful flowers that attract evening moths, watch for beavers that swim quietly to avoid predators, and listen for the howl of coyotes, flutter of wings or snap of twigs. This program can be customized to suit schools, Scouts, Guides and other groups. Ages 6+, $4.25/youth/senior, $8/adult, $21.25/family.
